Welcome to the site of SIAMA Children Namibia!

SIAMA Children Namibia (SCN) is a Dutch foundation that wants to give vulnerable and orphaned children in Namibia a new chance for a better future. Namibia is a very poor country with big problems. Aids percentages are increasing every day and are so frightening that the next two generations will have large problems. The unemployment figure is around 40%, what means thSiama30kleinat many families have little or nothing to eat. This is for the many orphans in this country a very sad future perspective. To make a difference in the lives of some of these children the foundation bought (in 2003) a plot with an old farmhouse in Omaruru, a small town approximately 250 km northeast of the capital Windhoek.

Since 2003 SCN has been renovating the existing farmhouse to register the house as a private hostel. On 11 January 2006 we open our doors for the first six children. We will take care of these children, provide them with shelter, food, clothes and we will pay the school fees for many of these children. By opening a private hostel, these children can go to school, will grow up in a loving environment and will be provided with healthy food. For them this really is a new chance for a better future.

Our private hostel is a kind of boarding school that will specifically focus on vulnerable and orphaned children who go to school in Omaruru and who cannot stay at home. This might be because these children are orphans, only have a mother who needs to work during the day and therefore cannot take care of the children, or the father and/or mother live too far away from Omaruru that the children cannot go back home every day.
