Foundation of SIAMA Children Namibia

In 2003 two Dutch couples, Loek & Ada Schuit and Betty Ruygrok and Theo Möllers, go on holiday to Namibia. During their holiday these four Dutch meet a local man who tells them about the many orphans in his village. Many of these children are infected with the HIV virus and are therefore cast off. The village needs money to build a wall to make a separated area for these children. The Dutch decide to help this village, but they think it is terrible to construct an isolated area. They decide to help the village in a different manner: that same week they become owners of 12 hectares of land in Omaruru, a small town in the northwestern part of Central Namibia. This is the beginning of the foundation SIAMA Children Namibia. Their goal is to create a home for these children where they can be safe and where they will be supported to be educated.
